WHO IS “RAINBOW COMMUNICATIONS”
Tom Reed - President
From 1964 until December 30, 1999 I served as a valued employee of the companies of the Bell System. I have been trained in most all of the Avaya, (formerly Lucent Technologies) product line. Trained in these "vintage" systems, I still work with upgrades and repairs. Trained in the new IP Office 500, I am especially excited about the upcoming versions of the IP Office 500 Partner Edition. It is the solution for the small business community with just a few phones to the medium business situations with a larger demand.
1963: Graduated Berkley Heights Central School
Attended U.J.C.- Division of Rutgers and CGCC - Division of SUNY
1964 - 1969: New Jersey Bell Telephone - Lineman, Splicer's Helper, Installer-Repairman.
1966 - 1968: Served in the US ARMY - 9th Infantry Division; Vietnam Disabled Veteran. Served in Vietnam as a Forward Observer, deploying military artillery until wounded. After healing, I served in the Office of Integrated Housing for the Army in Baltimore, Md. until my honorable discharge, at which time I returned to my previous job.
1969 - 1999: Lucent Technologies, (formerly with AT& T and New York Telephone) in the Albany, New York area until retirement. Installer - Repairman - Large Enterprise Installer.
1/1/2000: After spending 36 years working on communication systems, and emensely enjoying my work, I decided to continue in this line of work on a contract or consulting type of basis. Thus began "Rainbow Communications"and which has grown the years, and I have no plans of retiring as I continue to enjoy my work.
